Retool Platform on Microsoft Azure

Personal project, October 2026

• Deployed self hosted Retool on Azure Kubernetes Service entirely with Terraform, using Retool's official Azure blueprint modules and Helm chart, with a prod environment and a nonprod upgrade lane.
• Built Azure Application Gateway ingress, Let's Encrypt TLS via DNS-01, private Azure Database for PostgreSQL Flexible Servers, Key Vault and a private VNet with NAT egress.
• Reviewed the vendor's Terraform modules before applying them; found, documented and patched 3 defects (Key Vault access policies stripped on a second apply, an ingress controller hard wired to one namespace, an ingress class mismatch causing silent 502 errors).
• Stood up a public data ingestion pipeline of 22 Kubernetes CronJobs, one per source, each cleared through publication and legal review.
• Anchored secrets in Azure Key Vault with self hosted Infisical and per namespace Kubernetes auth identities; apps read through a least privilege read only PostgreSQL role.
• Delivered a read only company risk dashboard and JSON API over the published employer data; a Retool Cloud app and workflow on that API is in progress.
